Makwa recruits only the best: skilled professionals who fully invest themselves
in our tours and love adventure. But that’s not all. We also require that all
our tour leaders:
 
• Have a valid first aid certificate
• Have a special driver’s license for 8 to 15 passenger vehicles for commercial use
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Be bilingual (French and English)
• Undergo a criminal background check
• Pass an internal driver’s exam for 15-passenger vehicles

WHAT IS A MAKWA TOUR LEADER ?

Before setting off, our tour leaders receive 25 hours of training. During intensive
workshops and situational exercises, this training covers the following:

• Risk management and emergency situations
• Safe driving and reflexes
• Tour guide techniques
• Working with an adolescent clientele
• Camping techniques

The Makwa tour leaders are respectful, approachable and dynamic, but more importantly, they’re fully trained to lead tours and ensure traveler safety, and they take these responsibilities to heart. Around
here, we call that the Makwa spirit. Friendly and resourceful, our tour leaders will know how to seamlessly integrate into your support team, adopt your tour director’s vision as their own, and make your trip the best it can be.
